George Baxter married Prildia Lovell on Oct 20, 1845. I am trying to locate George's family. Years ago I was told their were two Baxter families in Jefferson Co., IN. One family was from Ohio, and the other was from Kentucky, also they told me my George was from the Ohio family (which follows what family member's have told me). If that is true would he be a brother to William Baxter who is married to Jane Kerr? He could not be William's son as Willam has a son on the 1850 census named George W., My George had already died by then, and he had a son born Aug 1847, named George Wallis Baxter. Could he be a nephew to William and Jane? Could he be a son of James and Martha Baxter, or a brother to James? Also is James and William Baxter brothers? They are located on the same page on the 1850 Census. Can anyone help me on this family? I have quiet abit of info on George Wallis and his two wives and their children.
