Poll Book of an Election Held on the First Monday in April 1837 at the usual
place of holding Elections in Milton Township for the purpose of Electing a
Justice of the Peace and two constables for said Township

We the judges & clerks of the election held in Milton township for the
purpose of electing a justice of the peace and two constables  for said
township do certify that John Shirk receive sixty four votes for JP and
James Brooks received 94 votes for the same office. Lester Burk received
Ten votes for the same office. Wiley Brooks received seventy four votes for
constable and James Joyce received one hundred and twenty eight votes for
the same office. Joshua Comley received forty eight votes for the
same office and Sanford Faught received thirty votes for the same office &
Benj Sherman recd eight votes for the same

		We therefore certify that James Brooks is duly Elected
Justice of the peace and James Joyce & Wiley Brooks are elected constables.
