Saluda Soldiers - Remarkable Honor Record of union Volunteers from one
Township. Brave Men Who Responded To Their Country's Call

Some time ago it was suggested that a list of the soldiers enlisted from
Saluda Township be published in the Madison Courier. In fact the editor
made the suggestion himself. J. E. Foutz Post took the matter in hand and
attempted to get the names of those who went from Saluda. It has been a
hard task to get what is here published. Hard to get all the facts in the
case, there will be many omissions in the list, because no one could tell
about that particular thing so long after the thing had happened. In many
cases most interesting matter has been found, but one paper would not
hold all that might be said about our boys, so all but the bare list has
been excluded. Some time some of this excluded but interesting matter
may be published. Any omission or any mistake will be set right by
addressing the Adjutant at the Post at Saluda.
