Thompson Farm NW 1/4 of Section 26, Township 4 North, Range 9 East Smyrna Township, Jefferson County, Indiana On the 1876 Jefferson County plat map, J. West owned this property. The tombstone is currently leaning against a tree in a neighbor's backyard. The neighbor reported it was removed from its original site by an unknown person, due to a building being erected over part of the grave. When the D.A.R. recorded this burial in the 1930s, they noted that Mary Winters was an aunt of Mary Ireland Emmert.
