Jacob Olinger and Barbary Downey

        This bible is located at the Maxwell Historical Museum in Maxwell, Story County, Iowa. The bible was carried to Iowa by John B. Olinger son of Jacob and Barbary (Downey) Olinger from Carroll County, Indiana. Some of the births and deaths were recorded after the fact. Jacob, shown here as born in Germany is not right. Records show his father, Philip came to America in 1741 as a young adult with his brother George.
